Embattled Amber Sherlock back on TV after leaked video

EMBATTLED Channel Nine presenter Amber Sherlock made a return to television screens on Sunday night, some three days after leaked video footage of an on-set meltdown made international headlines.

The polished presenter made no reference to the now-infamous video, in which she was shown repeatedly berating reporter Julie Snook for wearing the same colour as her during a live cross.

Sherlock wisely avoided the colour herself as she presented the weather on Nine's 6pm bulletin, eschewing white and instead opting for a red dress.

Sherlock's return to television comes after a no doubt surreal few days for the newsreading veteran, as the leaked video - which surfaced on Thursday afternoon - quickly went viral, even being discussed by US talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.

"I don't know who decided to release this tape but whoever that was I just want to say thankyou from the bottom of my heart," Kimmel said, as he played the tape for his millions of viewers.

Both Sherlock and Snook gave an initial comment on Thursday to the Nine network's sister site 9Honey in an attempt to hose down the story, with Sherlock admitting she "overreacted," while Snook insisted the pair were good friends.

Since then, the video has sparked debate about everything from workplace bullying to the unfair expectations placed on women in the media.

It is understood that Sherlock was summoned on Friday for a meeting with bosses at the Nine Network to explain her on-camera outburst.

The presenter met with Nine's National Director of News and Current Affairs, Darren Wick, and HR representatives, according to Yahoo7 Be.

It's understood Nine is deciding what action to take against the person who leaked the video, with a TV insider telling that leaking the video is a sackable offence.

"It was hugely embarrassing and Amber will be demanding answers," the insider told us.

"There's no doubt that leaking such a video could be a sackable offence. It made one of their star presenters look nuts and petty".
