JTR band member Tom can't wait to get home to Queensland to go for a swim in the ocean following his group's exit from X Factor.

The trio of Swedish-born brothers was eliminated from the show last night by three of the four coaches.

Tom, the middle brother aged 20, said after working nearly eight weeks straight on the reality talent show that he can't wait to get back to southeast Queensland's sun, sand and surf.

"I want to go jet skiing and wake boarding and just have a swim in the ocean," he said.

Tom and his brothers John, 23, and Robin, 19, moved to Cornubia in Brisbane's southern suburbs just three months before auditioning for X Factor.

"We love Australia. We've been back and forth for eight years so we're used to being here but we only just recently moved here," he said.

"Everyone so happy and positive in Australia and the weather is amazing. Everything is just beautiful."

Tom said he and his siblings can't wait to get stuck into their own original music, which he describes as acoustic pop.

"We're going to do some gigs and play our own music and build our fan base even more," he said.

"Because we were songwriters original we have a lot of songs lying around waiting to be played."

With media attention both in Australia and in their native Sweden, the group credits its coach Natalie Bassingthwaighte with giving them the confidence to cope with its newfound fame.

"She talks a lot about confidence on stage and how to act as an artist, and that's the main thing for us; we really needed that," Tom said.

He disagrees with judge Ronan Keating's comments from last night's show that their audition was their strongest performance on X Factor.

"The first audition was something we were really comfortable with," he said.

"It was something we normally do with a guitar, but later on in the show we were trying new stuff every week and we're really happy with every performance."
