Eagles to fall with records?
IT HAS been a big couple of weeks for West Coast's Dean Cox.
Last week Cox (pictured) equalled Glen Jakovich's club record of 276 games while also setting a new mark for the most games by a player who began his AFL career as a rookie.
This week, he not only breaks Jakovich's club record, but also jags another from the great centre-half back by playing the most consecutive games for the Eagles (97).
But that is where the celebrations look likely to end for the big ruckman as the ladder-leading West Coast heads to Geelong without injured stars Darren Glass, Marc LeCras, Chris Masten, Shannon Hurn and Beau Waters and the suspended Luke Shuey.
Simonds Stadium has been an unproductive venue for the Eagles during Cox's 14-year career.
In six visits to Geelong, Cox has had just one victory, in 2006 when the Eagles went on to win the premiership, and a draw back in 2003.
