Dustyesky, the Russian choir from Mullumbimby

They are hairy and they sing in Russian, but they don't speak the language.

Oh, but they love vodka.

Mullumbimby's mighty men of Russian chorale Dustyesky will hit the road to Bellingen next month where they'll perform at the inaugural Bello Winter Music Festival (July 2 - 5).

Much has happened since their debut at the Mullumbimby Music Festival last year, where they played daily to great success.

To warm up for the coming winter occasion, and raise funds for their travel and vodka requirements, the boys will be previewing their live set, including new songs, along with fellow Bello festival comrades Andrew Morris and Two Lions this weekend.

Choir member Andrew Swain said the men are ready to go on stage again.

"We've emerged from our Siberian Winter retreat at last with three new songs: A song of brave Russian Naval heroism from early last century, another hauntingly beautiful ballad and a classic folk tune of lust," he said.

At the Courthouse Hotel, Mullumbimby, this Sunday from 4pm.  Entry by donation.
