Drunk cop taunted nude offender with traffic cone

A DARLING Downs police officer who allegedly taunted a nude offender using a traffic cone has been given 'managerial guidance'.

The offender was brought into the Stanthorpe station naked on a public nuisance charge on March 9, 2014 and was given a blanket by police, the ABC reported.

The senior constable, who was off duty at the time but at the station, admitted to holding a traffic cone to his groin and thrusting it towards the offender.

ABC News obtained a copy of the internal report which found the senior constable was intoxicated at the time.

After more than a year of investigating, Assistant Commissioner of the Southern Region Tony Wright substantiated the claims and assigned the officer to "receive managerial guidance where he will be reminded of the standard of behaviour expected of an officer".

Another officer at the same station has also received managerial guidance after a separate internal report found he made fun of Asian people.
