Dogs used in search for bodies of Rocky duo at Port Curtis

DOGS are being used to locate the bodies of missing Rockhampton duo Robert Martinez and Chantal Barnett.

Police investigating the suspected murder of Chantal Barnett and Robert Martinez are searching a specific area of Rockhampton today as a result of information received from the public.

Police with the assistance of the State Emergency Service have commenced a search of an area of land at Port Curtis (outside Rockhampton city) as a result of specific information received by police. A human remains detection dog will be used as part of the search.

"Information from the public has been of value to this investigation from the outset and has resulted in the search of this specific area. Should other members of the public have information relevant to this area, we would request that they make contact with us through Crime Stoppers," Detective Acting Superintendent Darrin Shadlow, Regional Crime Coordinator said.

The police will be talking to media at 1.30pm. The Bulletin will endeavour to Live Video stream this media conference.
