Dive into Tim Rogers stories and hit songs

DETOUR-ING 2017 is Tim Rogers latest show.

Following the LP release of An Actor Repairs, a fair amount of touring with You Am I, plus the release of his first book Detours, Rogers will wrap it all up, with a solo show that will bring him to Byron Bay.

So what can we expect from Tim Rogers? According to the man himself, who knows?

"I prepare and then I de-vault that preparation. That's the nature of touring," he said.

"With music, if you plan too much, you will get yourself into a horrible bother because you gotta be cognoscente of what the room is like and what the crowd is like.

"My wish is is always to get lost in whatever story is being told and whatever song, so I'm not conscience of audiences, but that's the nature of music performance for myself.

"There is often people who wants to talk to each other and drink and you are just a musician in the corner, and there is a percentage that wants to listen, and getting that balance right is difficult sometimes, so I prepare 40 or 50 songs and let's see where the evening takes us, but I will be overdressed," he said in true Tim Rogers style.

The artists promised a mix of storytelling and music.

"That's the spirit of it," he said.

"If you are out playing by yourself, the art of song writing and lyric writing fascinates me, and I love listening to good storytelling."
