MORE than 100,000 people will be encouraged to discover the Sunshine Coast again through a new publication produced by the Sunshine Coast Daily to help the region’s embattled tourism industry.

 Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd (SCDL) in partnership with APN News and Media has commissioned the glossy 16 page guide.

 Discover the Sunshine Coast will be inserted from Saturday in seven of APN’s top performing daily papers.

 SCDL Acting CEO, Pippa McCreery said the initiative was designed to target our key markets.

 “The aim of this practical marketing initiative is to reach as many domestic consumers as possible,’’ she said.

“This is part of our ongoing commitment to targeting South East Queensland, Northern New South Wales and other regional Queensland centres to remain top of mind and entice people to choose the Sunshine Coast for their next holiday.

“It is also fantastic to see the level of participation and support by local operators through advertising in the Discover the Sunshine Coast guide” added Ms McCreery.

 The guide will be inserted in the following papers: The Queensland Times (Ipswich), The Chronicle (Toowoomba), Tweed Daily News, The Northern Star (Lismore/Northern Rivers), The Daily Examiner (Grafton), The Coffs Coast Advocate (Coffs Coast), The North West Star (Mt Isa) & The Daily Mercury (Mackay).

This new look guide contains information on planning a Sunshine Coast holiday including:

  • Sub-regions and townships on the Sunshine Coast from Noosa to Mooloolaba, Caloundra to the Hinterland
  • Beaches and water activities
  • National Parks and walks
  • Fun and adventure - attractions
  • Romance and weddings
  • Golf
  • Markets and shopping
  • Calendar of events
  • Regional map
     

There will also be an online competition component with readers able to win ‘A taste of the Sunshine Coast Family Adventure’ holiday package, valued at over $5000.
