Devils get out of jail; Giants storm home

Byron Bay 30 v Casino 22
Mullumbimby 38 v Marist Brothers 4

Defending premiers Byron Bay Red Devils used their ‘get out of jail’ card against Casino in NRRRL at Casino on Sunday.

Lowly-placed Casino looked set for a major upset, leading 22-14 with just 15 minutes to go.

However, tries to Scott Stapleton, Tobin Cupples and Brad Lees saw the Devils get the competition points.

At Mullumbimby on Saturday, after the score was locked at 4-all at half-time, the Giants racked up 34 second-half points to demolish Brothers 38-4.

Hooker Robbie Wark notched up a hat-trick of tries for the Giants.

Both reserve grade sides had good wins.
