Decomposed body found in Coast home, police investigate

BREAKING: A body has been found in a Sunshine Coast home after a member of the public requested police conduct a welfare check.

The partially decomposed body was found in a unit in Nambour after 5pm after calls from a concerned local for a welfare check.

It may have been there for up to a week.

The deceased person is believed to be a man in his 60s.

A police spokesman said the cause of death appeared non-suspicious, although an investigation would be required due to the body's decomposition.

An autopsy will determine the formal cause of death.
