Day is all set for a great cause
RUGBY LEAGUE: Car enthusiasts can now get their car washed while they admire some of the classic cars
from the Curtis Coast Cruisers and Harbour City Auto Club.
Both organisations have joined forces with the Gladstone Valleys Diehards Rugby League Club, Rocky Glen Hotel/Motel and Poppys Car Detailing for a special day on February 24.
It's the Car Wash and Car Display to be held at the RG car park from 10am-2pm.
Valleys Diehards' first aid officer Graeme Huther, also of Poppys Car Detailing fame, said it's a great chance for car and rugby league lovers to spend a few hours on Saturday week to either get their car washed, have a sausage, beer or soft drink and look at cars from a bygone era.
"It's $10 and funds will go towards the ZValleys club and the day-to-day running of the club," he said.
RG general manager Aolbheamn Moynihan, who moved to Gladstone from Ireland five years ago, said lots of hard work was done to organise the event.
"It should be a great day and Jed Griffiths (Diehards' president) and Graeme have done a lot of organising," she said.
RG is also one of the Valleys' official sponsors for the new season.
