Danny feted at tribute

Newly-retired pro surfer, Danny Wills, was feted at a special tribute night at Byron Bay’s Backroom on Saturday organised by the Byron Bay Boardriders Club. About 150 people saw Danny presented with a gold ring to mark life membership of the club and also a certificate of recognition for his surfing exploits over the years from Byron Mayor Cr Jan Barham.
A highlight of the night, hosted by the ABC’s Bruce McKenzie, was the screening of a 30-minute film on Danny’s career.
