Damien's new golf position

MULLUMBIMBY Golf Club professional Damien Webber has been appointed development and promotions officer for junior golf in the Northern Rivers.

Born in Byron Bay, Damien was a junior was a member of Ballina, Byron Bay and Ocean Shores golf clubs and went on to represent NSW in Australian junior championships gaining selection in the 1992 Australian team.

He said he had has big plans for developing junior golf in the region along with financial support from the Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation and New South Wales Golf Association.

He will spend 12 hours a week assisting and promoting junior golf in the Northern Rivers including free 'go, go golf' sessions at schools.

Girls aged between 6 and 17 are welcome to attend a girls only golf day at Casino Golf Club on Sunday August 16. Cost is $10 and includes equipment, lesson, lunch and cold drink.
