Next year Damien will be working full time with the Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation following his passion for promoting golf at grassroots level.
“I will certainly miss all of the members and our talented juniors and the unbelievable support and love from the members that I will cherish and never forget,” he said.
Damien said highlights over the last 14 years had included creating employment for four people running the golf pro shop, friendly supportive members, creating the ‘Srixon Challenge’, sponsoring ‘the Webber’s Week Of Golf” with more than $16,000 in trophies, hosting a very successful Pro-Am and junior tournaments, Introducing thousands of people to golf through Adult Education and junior clinics and finally seeing juniors grow up into great ambassadors for Mullumbimby and the game of golf.
Damien was awarded the ‘AAA’ rating from the Australian PGA for attending seminars and successfully passing subjects like hotel and resort management, golf tuition, golf science, conditioning and junior development.
Because of his outstanding work over 14 years with junior golfers, Jack Newton asked Damien to become the North Coast Junior PGA Professional & Development Officer for 2010.
He will travel to primary schools to introduce Go Go Golf and also help golf clubs attract and retain juniors as well as creating development days for boys and girls of all ages and abilities all over the Northern Rivers.

Damien thanked everyone for the immense support and he wished Mullumbimby Golf Club and members all the very best for years to come. Damien’s final day in the pro shop is December 31.
