Big bad custom Ford F350 SuperDuty
SO popular are Ford's mighty F-Trucks in Australia these days they've almost become commonplace, so to really stand out you need to opt for a dash of customisation.
Harrison F-Trucks, which has showrooms in Melbourne and Maroochydore, Qld, has its own custom division to tailor a customer's F-Series to exacting equipment, features and paintwork requirements.
Recently completed is this bespoke F350 SuperDuty with an 80mm height lift, 20-inch black rims with Pro-Comp tyres, LED roof lamps and a total of eight flood and spot lights.
The 6.7-litre V8 turbo diesel truck - good for 328kW and 1166Nm of torque - certainly leans towards the dark side, with its all-black paintwork joined by a Black hammerhead front bumper with alloy plating, colour-coded front wheel flares, custom black grille and smoked lights front and rear.
"This latest model from our custom division shows the depth and breadth of customisation we are able to offer clients," said Nic Harrison, Dealer Principal of Harrison F-Trucks. "In this case this is clearly an F-Series aimed at leisure, but it could just have easily been fitted with winches, tow bars and a lined and reinforced load area to make it a workhorse."
Even before modifications start, these US-sourced trucks - converted to right hand drive configuration by Harrison F-Trucks - have a very useful standard spec.
The F350 in Pickup guise as here has a 3.3-tonne payload, an 8.4-tonne towing ability, or a massive 10.5-tonne fifth-wheel towing ability.
Just how much heavy duty work this black custom example will undertake is yet to be seen, but if you spot it in your rear view, it's probably best to quickly move aside.
