Cowboy hats and blue jeans rule

It was all cowboy hats and blue jeans at the Red Devils Rugby League ground in Byron Bay last Wednesday night as the annual Hall Rodeo rode into town.

Hundreds and hundreds of people took advantage of a warm summer night to watch all the wild action from the ‘meanest’ bulls, ‘rankest’ horses and ‘fastest’ cowgirls. The program featured a ‘bull and bronc spectacular’, with plenty of comedy routines in between events.

The cowboys and cowgirls came from all over Queensland and northern New South Wales.

Rodeo spokesperson Carol Bostock said the rodeo was the first of the season, so competitors were hoping for some good rides.
