Countdown on for Global Carnival

THE Global Carnival is two days away and across the region the anticipation is building as locals prepare to mingle with regional, interstate and international visitors.

The gates for the Global Carnival open on Friday at 3pm and around 5000 punters are expected to feast on some of the very best world music acts.

Headlining the three-day carnival is the legendary Baaba Maal from Senegal who last toured in 1999.

His gig at Global will be his only appearance during this Australian visit.
