Countdown on to first market

The countdown is on to the first Mullumbimby Farmers Market at the showgrounds on Friday, April 9.

And 55 local farmers can’t wait to set up their stalls of fresh fruit and vegies, eggs and meats, nuts and honey, coffee and herbs, breads and baked goodies, pasta and olives, as well as live chooks and ducks, in the spots allocated to them by market manager Judy MacDonald (pictured, centre front) and (left to right) committee Tony Hinds, David Piesse and Ian Cameron, at a meeting last week to fine-tune the details of the much-anticipated market.

The market’s official opening is at 9am, with live music and entertainment and a chance to win a free hamper, and thereafter the market, billing itself as ‘a one-stop shopping place’ will be every Friday from 7am.
