Council could go ‘live’ on web

BYRON Council is investigating ‘streaming’ its meetings live on the internet.

The idea was proposed at a recent meeting of the council’s communications committee and a report on the viability and cost is expected to be tabled at the next committee meeting on June 4.

A council spokesperson said she was aware of a few councils web ‘streaming’ meetings, but it wasn’t a widespread practice.

“It’s not a cheap exercise,” she said.
