Council adds support to the writers festival

Byron Shire Council has given its support to the 2009 Byron Bay Writers Festival and will continue to be an event sponsor.

At last week’s meeting, council voted to support the festival with the use of council signage and associated materials for traffic management to a maximum cost of $1000 as well as making a donation of a further $1000 to assist with other costs associated with the DA and the additional costs involved in relocation to a new site.

The Byron Bay Writers Festival will be held at Belongil Fields from August 7-9.
