DENISE Scott and Dave O'Neil are comedy icons in Australia and both have 25 years experience making people laugh.

Their latest two-hour show features each of them in a 40-minute set with O'Neil (pictured at left) acting as MC for the evening.

The show centres mostly on parenting.

"Denise has older children and I have younger ones, but we have some great stories to tell about that," he said.

"With us you get the male and the female perspective on parenting.

"It's not a show for children but if you are a teenager you are welcome to come along."

O'Neil is actually bringing his three children with him for a family holiday on the Northern Rivers.

O'Neil and Scott have worked together in the past, touring as stand up comedians on TV and radio.

"Denise and I did a radio breakfast show in Melbourne for several years, so we know each other quite well," he said.

"Denise has an adult son who is a musician, and he still lives with her, and he will bring girls to the house and in the morning they will meet outside the bathroom.

"Once a girl said, 'You must be the mother' and Denise said, 'No, I'm just part of the harem'."

Asked what else he was working on, O'Neil said: "Oh, I have a panel van for sale on eBay, too."

At the Bangalow Bowlo today from 8pm. $30 at the door.
