Coffs Harbour man facing manslaughter trial over punch

A COFFS Harbour man charged with manslaughter over a one-punch death in Queensland is likely to face trial this month.

Kenneth Faron Shawn Lionel Major's conviction for manslaughter was overturned in the Court of Appeal earlier this year and a retrial was ordered.

He is accused of throwing the lethal punch that killed Api Lai in Surfers Paradise in February, 2010.

In a trial review on Thursday5/9, the Supreme Court heard a re-trial would not start before September 19.

A three-day pre-trial hearing is expected to occur before then.
