IT was a case of who could go backwards the slowest on a strange day of scoring in the third round of the RACV Ladies Masters at Royal Pines.

At day's end, it was England's Holly Clyburn with a one over 74 who was on top of the leaderboard heading into the final round along with fellow Brit, teenager  Charley Hull, who carded a two over 75 and young Korean Eun Woo Choi (75) all on four-under.

The trio, who will be paired together in the final round, were only one shot ahead of Australia's Su-Hyun Oh, Norway's Tonje Daffinrud and overnight leader Rebecca Artis who took 13 shots more with a  third round blowout of 79 than she did in posting the tournament's low round of 66 on Friday.
