Clive Palmer says Coolum Resort sale is 'rubbish'

FAIRFAX MP Clive Palmer says media speculation he is selling his Coolum resort is "rubbish".

"It's the same story for the past four years," Mr Palmer told Fairfax Media.

News Corp on Tuesday morning reported there was speculation that Palmer Coolum Resort - owned by federal MP Mr Palmer - may be on the market because Mr Palmer hosted a delegation of "Asian businessmen around the resort" in golf carts.

Mr Palmer followed his denial with a tweet in which he likened News Corp and its owner Rupert Murdoch to Danish fairy tale author Hans Christian Anderson.

Coolum Resort general manager Simon Stodart said the 26-year-old, 110-hectare Sunshine Coast resort was simply going through a major onsite refurbishment program that attracted unwanted speculation.
