Clinton's health could be an election issue

THE US presidential campaign received a jolt of drama after Hillary Clinton left a 9/11 memorial event early after becoming unwell - triggering speculation about her health.

Video footage showed the former secretary of state (pictured) apparently sagging and buckling as she waited for her vehicle then having to be helped inside.

In a move that was quickly seized on by opponents of Mrs Clinton who have questioned her health, the Democratic candidate left the event at Ground Zero in New York after 90 minutes and went to her daughter's apartment to recover.

The event marked the 15th anniversary of the attacks on New York and Washington. Almost 3000 people died in the Al-Qaeda operation.

Mrs Clinton's doctor Lisa Bardack issued a statement later that she had pneumonia and was now recovering.
