CLERMONT park ranger Miles Pritchett might have been eliminated from MasterChef tonight but the experience will stay in his "grey matter forever".

It was not all gravy for the 46-year-old though.

Miles, who is used to having plenty of space in his job wandering the vast expanses surrounding the Central Highlands, said living in a house with 24 people was a bit little different.

"Sleeping in a bunk bed with four guys in the one room, sharing a bathroom with 16 people, that sort of stuff was a little bit different," he laughed.

"Me being a bloke that likes his own space... but it was still a brilliant experience and one I'll never forget."

Pritchett was eliminated in tonight's pressure test when his Japanese-inspired salmon did not impress the judges.

"The dish was a lucky dip and I pulled out Japanese and fish and I couldn't have dreamed of getting a better combination," he said.

"I fell in a heap though. I think the expectations were weighing me down... so the nerves and expectations of doing something spectacular got me down."

Pritchett said his dish was still "pretty tasty" but it was not as good as it could have been.

He said he left the competition with his head held high and no regrets.

"The experience was amazing, it was really fantastic and overwhelming," Pritchett said.

"What I learn and how much fun I had were the two boxes I really wanted to tick."

Pritchett is now back working as a park ranger in Clermont but he has some exciting news in his personal life and congratulations are in order.

"I'm about to embark on a little trip overseas to catch up with a special girl," he said.

"I actually met a very special lady and I've asked her to marry me."

Pritchett is now developing a concept called the Miles Pie Club. He hopes to open a café in Clermont soon.

"We're tossing around some ideas at the moment and trying to get things off the ground," he said.

"It all came to fruition after episode two when I presented that pie to the judges that they liked, so fingers crossed I can get that ball rolling."

Pritchett's dream on MasterChef was to open a cafe with his two kids.

"We still have that dream... and hopefully that will happen some time soon as well," he said.
