Claims former cop lied to integrity commission to be tested

FORMER Northern Rivers senior police officer Shane Diehm has arrived at the Downing Local Court at Sydney for the start of a two-day hearing into claims he lied to the Police Integrity Commission.

Diehm faces four counts of lying to the NSW PIC and it is expected evidence over the next two days is likely to involve questions of drug usage.

Diehm has arrived at the court supported by his family.

The former police officer was once one of the most senior on the Northern Rivers, rising to the position of Crime Manager for the Tweed Byron Local Area Command after serving as a detective at Lismore, where he had carriage of the high-profile Simone Strobel murder case.
