HE HAD to embarrass himself on national television to do it, but Toowoomba's celebrity “geek” Michael Price has finally found love.

Michael, 23, was the winner of reality TV show Beauty and the Geek last year.

The electrical engineer, with his partner Jessie, beat the show's other contestants through a series of tasks that challenged both his intellect and self-respect and walked away with a $50,000 cash prize.

He's had a whirlwind few months since the show ended — getting recognised by strangers as he walks down the street and being introduced to beautiful girls wanting to take his photo.

It was through one of these encounters that he met new flame Kristy Britt.

Michael was approached in January at a Gold Coast bar by Kristy's sister and mother who then introduced the pair.

“I got her number at the end of the night,” Michael explained.

“We went on a few dates after that and the rest is history ... It was an interesting way of meeting.”

Michael said he'd managed to squirrel away his winnings and was planning to use the money to buy his first home.

But he did admit to frequenting Brisbane's pubs and clubs since the show finished.

“I like to jokingly tell people I've gone all Charlie Sheen and spent all the money,” Michael laughed.
