City breaks record as Raheem Sterling moves from the Reds

RAHEEM Sterling (pictured) could still be coming to Australia, but it won't be with Liverpool after the club reportedly reached an agreement to sell him to Manchester City for a British record $A102 million.

Sterling's move is still subject to contract negotiations and a medical.

The 20-year-old was named in Liverpool's 30-man squad for the tour of Thailand, Australia and Malaysia, which begins against Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night, but was then withdrawn.

Manchester City is already in Australia for the International Cup where it will take on Real Madrid and Roma in Melbourne.

City plays Adelaide United behind closed doors on the Gold Coast tomorrow night, and Melbourne City, also at Cbus Super Stadium, on Saturday night.

The International Cup begins in Melbourne on Saturday with Roma playing Real Madrid at the MCG.
