Choir to sing at Opera House

Byron Bay Public School’s 36-member senior choir has been selected to perform at the Sydney Opera House later this year.

The choir will join other selected public school choirs in the Festival of Choral Music on August 27.

Under the musical direction of Heda Sherab, Kenn Sealey and Julie Pav, choir members are rehearsing after school for the big day.

They will travel to Sydney by bus and attend a rehearsal at the Opera House on the morning of the performance.

There will be a series of fund-raising activities in coming months to help cover costs.

The choir will make its first public appearance at The Beach Hotel on Mother’s Day.
