Cherries off the mark in Premier League
BOURNEMOUTH have come from behind against Brighton at the Vitality Stadium to claim their first English Premier League win of the season.
Solly March headed the opener for the visitors after half-time before Andrew Surman equalised after strong lead-up play by former Liverpool player Jordon Ibe.
Ibe then set up the winner for veteran Jermain Defoe, who scored his first goal since joining the club at the start of the season.
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe told the BBC the result would boost his club.
"A lot of emotions, relief is probably the biggest one. We have had a tough run of fixtures and today was really important," he said.
"They played deep, they were compact and we knew it would be difficult. The two goals have given everyone a confidence lift."
Bournemouth remains in the relegation zone in 19th spot, while Brighton - who started with Socceroo Mat Ryan in goal - is 14th.
