Cavaliers shift game time to avoid World Series clash

BASKETBALL: The NBA has brought forward the time of tomorrow morning's game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Houston Rockets to avoid a clash with the World Series baseball.

The Cleveland Indians will take on the Chicago Cubs at Progressive Field in game six of the Fall Classic, and with the outdoor venue neighbouring the Cavaliers' Quicken Loans Arena, it has been decided to bring the basketball tip-off forward to 7am (AEST).

The NBA champions requested the change to avoid an overlap with the baseball clash, which is due to start at 10.08am (AEST).

The Indians lead the Cubs 3-2 and can win their first World Series since 1948.

If they complete the series win it will be another day of celebration after the Cavaliers defeated Golden State in game seven of the NBA finals to end the city's championship drought after 52 years.

The Indians and Cavaliers have shared a sports complex since 1994.
