Family members accused of murder will have case delayed
THE case against three family members accused of brutally bashing a man to death at the Coffs Harbour jetty has been delayed for another six weeks.
In November last year, a 50-year-old man was found with critical head injuries outside the corner of Edgar and Collingwood Sts.
He later died at Newcastle John Hunter Hospital.
North Boambee's James Moore, 26 was arrested and days later, his mother Michelle Kathleen Moore, 49 and her partner Brendan James Price, 41 were also charged with murder.
Last December Magistrate Alex Mijovich ordered the DPP to provide briefs to the three before their January court date so the case could progress.
The trio appeared in the Coffs Harbour local court yesterday but the case was adjourned until May 14.
Police will allege the victim was repeatedly struck with a metal pole and piece of wood during a trivial dispute.
