Cap on entries for paddle

After the major success of last year’s maiden event, plans are well under way for the staging of the second Byron Bay Ocean Paddle.

Organisers say there has been massive interest in the event set down for July 17 and 18 and entries have to be capped at 300.

The Saturday 12km event is open to ocean skis and ocean kayaks in five divisions. There will be a 6km paddle for stand up paddle boards and sit-on-top plastic kayaks.

On the Sunday there will be a 22km downwind paddle from either Lennox Head or Brunswick Heads to Main Beach.
