Byron Xmas tree goes up

Byron United’s Christmas tree went up in Byron Bay last Friday morning, thanks to the financial support of five ‘gold’ sponsors and a number of businesses in the town.

With Byron Council rejecting a request to cover the costs of traffic control while the tree was being erected, there was some doubt about whether there would be a tree to add to the town’s festive spirit this Christmas.

But it’s up now and will be in place until January 11.
