Byron train turns heads at Vivid Sydney

THE 660 series two car rail motor train which will soon call Byron Bay home is currently turning heads as part of Vivid Festival in Sydney.

Byron Bay Railroad Company Ltd, a not-for-profit enterprise owned by the people behind Elements of Byron Resort, is reinstating a train between Sunrise Beach, just outside Elements of Byron Resort, and Byron township.

The classic rail cars which will soon lie on those tracks is currently at the Lithgow State Mine Railway until it is brought via train and truck to Byron Bay in November.

While it is in Lithgow, the train is being used once or twice a month on country and city excursions as well as lunch and dinner parties with live music.

The train seats 106 passengers and leaves three times a day.
