Byron siblings to collaborate with Voice coach will.i.am

BYRON duo Gabriel and Cecilia Brandolini have come out on top after their Voice exit.

The siblings were eliminated last night in the closest result yet of the show's new one-minute "instant save" voting via mobile devices.

Team mate Anja Nissen scraped through with 52 percent of the snap vote, but straight after the Brandolini's elimination their coach will.i.am jumped up on the stage to ask the duo to work with him in the studio.

"I'm recording my album here in Sydney on the days that I'm not filming and I want to know if I can collaborate with you guys and if you'll come work with me in the studio on my stuff," will.i.am said.

"I would love for you guys to come in."

The producer and Black Eyed Peas founder called the Brandolini's "lane openers", referring to their unique takes on the songs they've covered on the reality singing show.

Their innovative take on Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit stunned the coaches last night, with host Darren McMullen saying he would buy their album tomorrow if he could.

"Looking back 12 months ago to looking now, this reality was no more believable than let's say Hogwarts," Gabriel said.

"So to achieve what we have achieved, it's impossible for us to be dishearted by what's happened.

"Thank you guys for letting us play music the way we want to play music."

The show's remaining eight singers will go on a capital cities tour after the show's grand final later this month.
