Byron preschool gives back to the community

The Byron Bay Preschool has for many years been well supported by businesses and families in the community.

Now the not-for-profit preschool wants to give back to the community.

Director Victoria Handley said that when the preschool learnt about the new food service for the homeless provided by Liberation Larder, it felt that it was a great opportunity for the families, children and staff of the preschool to contribute back to those in need of food in our community.

“It was also a great opportunity for children to learn about the value of giving,” she said.

“The pre-school now has a permanent basket in the foyer for people to contribute to each week.

“So far for the past two weeks we have been able to ring Honu from the larder to come and collect a hamper of food.”
