Byron Farmers’ Market goes pink to support cancer group
PINK was the colour and flavor of the day at the Byron Farmers' Market last Thursday as stallholders and customers celebrated Pink Day.
The annual event was held in support of the Byron Breast Cancer Support Group's (BBCSG) 10th Pink October.
Hundreds of stallholders and marketgoers joined in the fun event, dressing in all shades of pink and jazzing up stalls with colourful decorations.
There were prizes for the best-dressed stall, best-dressed customer (male and female) and best-dressed farmer.
BBCSG support group co-ordinator Barb Pinter said the market was buzzing with a fantastic atmosphere.
"It's not even 8am and already we've had a great response with people visiting our Pink tent and buying raffle tickets," she said.
"We would like to thank the farmers' market for their wonderful continued support."
Market manager Mike stack said it was great to see stallholders and customers getting into the spirit for such a worthy cause.
"We feel passionate about supporting the Group as most of our stallholders have been directly or indirectly touched by breast cancer," he said.
