Byron Coastal Plan up for debate next week

THE DRAFT Coastal Zone Management Plan for the Byron Bay Embayment is to be re-debated on 19 May after Council voted at its Extra Ordinary Council meeting on Thursday to place the plan on publication exhibition for consultation.

A rescission motion has since been lodged.

Director of sustainable environment and economy, Shannon Burt said the the consultation time frame was initially due to commence on Saturday 14 June, but this would now need to be moved forward.
