Byron Bypass back on the agenda

BYPASSING Byron Bay's town centre is back on the agenda after Roads Minister Duncan Gay met with Mayor Simon Richardson and council staff on Thursday about easing traffic congestion.

During the meeting Minister for the North Coast and Ballina MP Don Page said the NSW Government would cover the costs of a detailed geo-technical study on the project, estimated to cost about $200,000, before it can proceed.

Mr Page said a bypass to Browning St at the southern end of the town from Ewingsdale Rd would cost about $10 million.
