Byron Bay life savers deal with dangerous surf

A WOMAN with suspected spinal injuries was pulled from the surf at Wategos beach at Byron Bay yesterday.

The women was body surfing at the time of the accident and was put in a neck brace, and laid on a spinal board until ambulance officers arrived and took her to Tweed Hospital.

All up surf lifesavers made four rescues at Byron Bay due to dangerous beach conditions attributed to the summer king tides.
