Byron Bay looking for their Clara

THE Byron Ballet company is now on the look out for talented dancers for Tchaikovsky's famous Nutcracker ballet.

The principal role of Clara is every young ballet dancer's dream and is one of the few ballets that has roles for every age - from the young angels to the extra adults at Clara's Christmas party, Byron Ballet director, Yvonne Hall, said

"Chloe Hollow, who danced the role of Clara 2 years ago is leaving the Northern Rivers to study at the National Ballet School, London, consequently we need to find a new Clara!" Ms Hall said.

Professional guests will be making a start with general auditions from July 9.

Holiday guests include professional dancer Giselle (from Germany), Tatiana ( From L.A), and Suzanne Way (ex soloist Royal Ballet).

"It's always a wonderful opportunity for the dancers to work with guests of this calibre," Ms Hall said.

The company is also preparing for a Gala Benefit to be held late August, featuring excerpts from the popular family ballet 'Coppelia' which will be a wonderful treat for young children in the area.
