Byron Bay ‘G’day’ to Oprah fans
G’day, and welcome to Byron Bay – you’ve arrived in paradise!
World-class beaches, international dining, the best in art and culture and unique shopping – it’s all at your doorstep.
Residents and business people extend a very warm and friendly Australian welcome to 30 American Oprah Winfrey audience members and 15 production staff who were due to arrive in Byron Bay yesterday.
The group is booked to stay at a luxurious Byron Bay resort and they will be treated to Byron’s famous hospitality as well as its famous sites.
Australia’s most easterly town has lots to offer tourists with some of the best surfing in the world, world heritage diving spots, the magnificent Cape Byron, breathtaking bush walks, kayaking, a farmers market showcasing some of the region’s best produce, iconic and unique shopping and a vibrant arts and industry estate.
And as for Oprah herself who is recording shows at the Sydney Opera House next week, word has it that she could also be staying in the area for at least one night.
So to all you Oprah fans who have travelled from America to Australia, remember to say g’day to a local and have a special ‘My Byron Day’ in Byron Bay.
