The choir is composed of past residents of The Buttery and is the Northern Rivers’ very own gathering of individuals carrying a message of hope – in this case, of recovery from addiction.
Writers festival director Jeni Caffin said she was glad to present the choir to this year’s festival audiences as an expression of community spirit and social activism.
“The festival has a history of supporting and collaborating with The Buttery arts program and the promotion of The Buttery’s work will form a reminder of how vital this community service is to our region,” she said.
The choir will perform on Thursday, August 6. This day is an invitation-only day for eligible ticket holders who missed out on last year’s festival due to rain.
