Bush regeneration is serious stuff
Members of Madhima Gulgan Aboriginal bush regeneration team take their work seriously.
“It’s good for the future,” said team leader Trevor Jenkins. “If no one is putting trees in the ground, it gets taken over by rubbish.”
The team is working on a Reconnecting to Country program at Wilsons Creek until February next year, regenerating a section of creek from the Wilsons Creek Hall upstream and planting a bush tucker garden at the school.
Other projects include regenerating the new sewage treatment plant area at Brunswick Heads, and training Mullumbimby community garden volunteers to manage weeds without herbicides.
The Madhima Gulgan team is available for fencing, bush regeneration and talks and can be contacted on 6684 6294.
