Britney Spears said break-up sucked

BRITNEY Spears' ex-fiancé inspired a lot of her upcoming album.

The 31-year-old singer, who has inked a deal for a two-year residency, called 'Piece of Me', at the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, ended her engagement with Jason Trawick in January 2013 and says writing about their split helped her to get over him.

She told 'Good Morning America' in New York City on Tuesday: "During this album, I had a breakup with Jason [Trawick] that I went through that I wrote a lot about. They suck! Breakups suck, man."

The former couple got engaged in December 2011 after two years of dating and Britney has been dating Dave Lucado since they split.

The 'Scream & Shout' hitmaker also briefly mentioned her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, whom she split from in 2002 after three years together and first romanced in 1992 on the 'Mickey Mouse Club'.

During a lightning round of questions, she was asked what age she had her first kiss, and said: "Oh my God, maybe 13. It was Justin."

Britney's new album will be released on December 3.
