BREAKING: Five shot near anti Donald Trump rally

THREE people are in hospital in a critical condition and two others have been injured after a mass shooting in downtown Seattle.

The Seattle Times reports gunshots rang out about 7pm local time as an anti Donald Trump rally made its way down nearby streets.

Police have since said the shooting was not politically motivated and was not related to the anti-Trump rally.

"Police found five victims on the street in front of a convenience store and at an adjacent bus stop," a spokesman from the Seattle Police Department told Fox News.

The police spokesman said the shooting appeared to be a result of some kind of argument on the street. The suspect turned to walk away and turned back and opened fire, police said.

The victims are being helped by medics and reports say the shooter is still at large,
