TO CELEBRATE National Youth Week, Byron Youth Service is running two free events in Byron Bay and Brunswick Heads.

Bounce into Youth Week will run from 8am-1pm on Saturday, April 9 at the Youth Activities Centre at 1 Gilmore Cres, Byron Bay.

Bounce will include: bubble soccer, a graffiti workshop, skateboard coaching, a bouncy castle, a slip and slide and a flea market.

And bus travel expenses will be re-imbursed.

Then head on up to Brunswick Heads Skate Park from 10am-4pm on Sunday, April 10, for the Battle at Bruns Skate Competition.

The battle is a free, all-ages event featuring skate demos, prizes and a free barbecue.

National Youth Week is an annual celebration of young people aged 12 to 25 throughout Australia.

“It is a joint initiative of the Australian, State, Territory and Local governments,” said Lotte Boer, from the Byron Youth Service.

“It gives local youth an opportunity to express their ideas and views, and act on issues that affect their lives. It also lets you have a lot of fun.”

BYS is a not-for-profit incorporated community association established in 1987 and is a primary provider of youth services in Byron Shire.
