Body washes up at Lennox Head beach

POLICE were called to Boulders Beach at Lennox Head on Saturday morning when they were notified by members of the public that a body had washed up on the rocks.

Inspector Doug Conners said they received a call at 8.40am and police found a 29-year-old local man dead on the beach. Police say it appears he had entered the water in the early hours and his car was found nearby.

The body will be sent to Newcastle for a post mortem, but Inspector Conners said there were no suspicious circumstances.
